Japan's Chubu region covers seven prefectures that split the main island of Honshu at its widest point. These seven prefectures, Aichi, Fukui, Gifu, Ishikawa, Mie, Shizuoka, and Toyama, encompass the mountain range known as the Japan Alps as well as the Sea of Japan, Ise Bay, and Lake Hamanako. This geography makes the Chubu region home to many resorts.
