Are you or your school considering editing a scholarly journal? One colleague commented that it cannot be much work: Manuscripts appear over the transom, pick the ones to publish, and take a nap. Of course, that bears no resemblance to the reality. Scholarly publication is about presenting and archiving contributions to knowledge. Architecture, as a discipline, may not have the history of other disciplines with scholarly publication and therefore it may not be generally understood what is involved in a university hosting a scholarly journal.
