Xerographic characteristics of doped and undoped ZnCdS binder layers

A study of the xerographic characteristics of ZnCdS both undoped and doped with Cu and Ag (separately as well as simultaneously) is reported in this paper. The maximum surface potential and the contrast potential of all the samples studied were observed to be more than 800 and 600 V, respectively. Comparative evaluation shows that the characteristics of Cu‐doped ZnCdS are well suited for xerographic purposes. The position of the acceptor energy levels in the forbidden gap are proposed. energy levels in the forbidden gap are proposed.
