MICROFIT 5.0

Microfit is an interactive econometric software package designed for the econometric modelling of time series data. It is not designed for handling cross-section or panel data. Microfit 5 was released in 2009, 12 years after the release of Microfit 4. Here we try to provide a broad introduction to Microfit 5 rather than highlighting the differences between the two versions. Microfit 5 requires a microcomputer running Windows 2000, XP or Vista operating system. It needs 1GB of RAM and 45 MB of hard disk space. Although Microfit 5 was not developed to run on Windows 7, Oxford University Press (OUP), Microfit's publisher, assures us that it will run on this operating system. This review was prepared using Version 5.01 on Panasonic Let's Note CF-S9 and CF-S10 laptops.
