Repeatability and reproducibility coefficients of variation for the preparation of wort using the Celite method prior to color determination ranged from 0.9 to 3.5% and 3.0 to 8.0%, respectively, and were judged acceptable. Repeatability and reproducibility coefficients of variation for the preparation of wort using glass fiber filter paper method prior to color determination ranged from 0.9 to 1.1% and 2.4 to 7.1%, respectively, and were judged acceptable. Repeatability and reproducibility coefficients of variation for the preparation of wort using the 0.45-μm PTFE syringe filter disc method prior to color determination ranged from 0.5 to 1.6% and 2.3 to 6.7%, respectively, and were judged acceptable. Repeatability and reproducibility coefficients of variation for the preparation of wort using the 0.45-μm PVDF syringe filter disc method prior to color determination ranged from 0.7 to 1.4% and 2.1 to 7.5%, respectively, and were judged acceptable. Based on analysis of variance results, the four methods tested were not significantly different at a 95% confidence level.
