PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of easily and accurately executing specifying of a color reproduction range of an image output apparatus and the color value inside/outside determination in the specified color reproduction range as to a color adaptable to user needs. PSOLUTION: A color value inside/outside determination apparatus includes: a means that determines a boundary of the color reproduction range by each of a plurality of values as to a specified component among components forming a prescribed color space by using the color indices distributed at outermost outline of the color reproduction range of the image output apparatus in the color space; a means that acquires a sample color value whereby each component value is recognizable in the color space; and a means that selects one of boundaries determined by each of a plurality of values of the specified component depending on the sample color value and determines whether or not the sample color value belongs to the color reproduction range of the image output apparatus by comparing the selected boundary and the sample color value.
