β-Glucan in Wort - Spectrophotometric Method

1. Repeatability and reproducibility coefficients of variation for the determination of β-glucan content by the spectrophotometric method ranged from 2.5 to 8.2% and 13.5 to 18.8%, respectively, and were judged acceptable. 2. Based on a comparison of means using a paired t-test, the spectrophotometric method was significantly different from the fluorescence method (Wort 18-B) at the 95% confidence level.
