In conclusion, we have introduced a sensitive method for the measurement of homonuclear ~13C-~13C J couplings in perdeuter- ated proteins. The assignment of X_2 rotamers derived from ~3JC_αC_δ is of considerable importance because of the limited NOE contacts in deuterated side chains.
