摘要

We recently examined the effects of changes in end-tidal CO_2 pressure and alveolar concentrations of each sevoflurane and isoflurane on phrenic nerve discharge, with the aim of comparing the depressive effects of those two volatile inhalational anesthetics on the central respiratory control system. The phrenic nerve efferent discharges were recorded on twelve male Sprague-Dawley rats. The respiratory rate was adjusted so that PetCO_2 would be 35, 40, 45, 55, and 60 mmHg at 1.0 MAC of each inhalational anesthetic.
