摘要

An efficient single-photon detector for the communication wavelength band is required for quantum communication. A detection method utilizing a highly efficient photon wavelength converter and a Si avalanche photodiode is promising. In this work, we studied waveguide quasi-phase-matched sum-frequency generation devices for a photon wavelength converter. We adopted an InGaAs laser diode as a pump source for the implementation of a practical detection module. The device performance was theoretically examined. A prototype device was designed, fabricated, and tested. A maximum quantum efficiency of 23% was obtained in wavelength conversion experiments. A high potential of the device for a single-photon detector was demonstrated.
