The boards of military propulsion specialist Tognum refused to recommend Rolls-Royce and Daimler's EUR3.2 billion (USD4.6 billion) bid for the company to shareholders on 15 April, arguing that it is "not appropriate" because it undervalues the company. However, the management and supervisory boards backed the acquisition in principle, saying that they believe it will "strengthen the company".
