QinetiQ's core maritime mission systems capability is located at a purpose-built test and integration facility at Portsdown Technology Park (PTP) near Portsmouth, UK. Originally established as a land-based test site to support the initial integration and through-life development of command, control, weapon and sensor systems for RN surface warships, the infrastructure on site has over time evolved and expanded to support communications integration, network-enabled capability, and coalition interoperability. Furthermore, it is licensed for the test of high-power radio frequency transmitters, allowing their performance to be characterised and evaluated in a representative maritime environment.
