Indian scramjet facility tests kerosene-burning combustor

India's Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) has designed and developed a combustor test facility to carry out experiments on scramjet propulsion systems, writes Doug Richardson.rnCapable of simulating the typical entry conditions of a scramjet combustor, it has already been used for ground-based trials of a scramjet combustor based on liquid kerosene fuel.rnDetails of the new facility were released in the latest issue of the Defence Research and Development Organisation's Technology Focus report.
