Cyber ranges: Training and testing for virtual weapons

Cyber ranges can be a useful resource for users - including armed forces - to test their equipment for potential vulnerabilities and train their operators. The concept is evolving in several directions, notably through the increased power and capacities offered by artificial intelligence (AI). Used for various purposes, cyber ranges can include a mix of physical and virtualised environments and have three major functions, said Esti Peshin, general manager of the cyber division of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
