US Army orders laser target locator systems

The US Army has ordered a new handheld laser target locator system from BAE Systems' Electronics, Intelligence and Support (EIS) group, which is partnered with the US arm of Swiss-based Vectronix, writes Michael J Gething.rnUnder the terms of a new five-year contract worth up to USD347 million, as many as 200 Laser Target Locator Modules (LTLMs) could be produced per month. The system will enable users to identify target locations while on foot, in daylight or at night, and in obscured-visibility conditions such as fog and smoke.
