Ukraine targets exports with laser-guided artillery projectiles

Despite being engaged in fighting on the borders with Russia, the Ukrainian Defence Industry (Ukroboronprom) is continuing to market to overseas customers a wide range of defence products including the 152 mm Kvitnyk-E laser guided projectile (LGP). Kvitnyk-E was developed by the Progress Scientific Industrial Complex and is designed to be fired from 152 mm towed and self-propelled (SP) artillery systems such as the Russian designed 2S3 and the 2S19 artillery systems The 152 mm Kvitnyk LGP was accepted into service by Ukraine in December 2012, but full-scale production has yet to start. LGP is not a replacement for conventional 152 mm high-explosive (HE) projectiles, which are normally used for suppressive fire.
