In early September, delegates from the North Korean Workers' Party gathered in Pyongyang for a rare congress aimed at reshuffling the country's senior leadership, according to a 6 September commentary from the state-run Rodong Sinmun newspaper.rnThe Pyongyang regime said in June that this conference would be held "in early September to elect its highest leading body". Since then, there has been no official announcement of the dates of the convention but registration appeared to have started by 7 September.
