Houthis display range of locally assembled weapons

The Yemeni rebel group Ansar Allah unveiled on 11 March what it claimed were 21 new types of weapon that it is producing. While some can be traced back to Iran, most appear to reflect the Iranian-backed effort to make the group less dependent on complete weapon systems being smuggled into the country. The group, which is popularly known as the Houthis, released photographs and videos of what it presented as the products of its Military Industrialisation Unit in the 'Martyr Commander Exhibition'. The weapons included the same type of cruise missile and delta-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that were used against Saudi oil facilities on 14 September 2019. Ansar Allah claimed responsibility for that attack, even though it was launched from the north of Saudi Arabia.
