Croatian Patria AMV upgrade delayed

The upgrade of Croatian Patria AMV wheeled armoured vehicles with Elbit UT30MK2 remote-controlled weapon stations has been further delayed. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said the delivery was "made difficult due to the Covid-19 pandemic". The ministry said Elbit resorted to the 'force majeure' clause of the HRK100 million (USD15.7 million) contract for eight UT30MK2 turrets signed in July 2017. However, it added that "the fulfilment of the whole contract is expected before the end of the current year". The related purchase of Spike LR missiles from Israel, valued at HRK8 million, also appears to have been delayed. Their delivery was expected by the end of June, but the Croatian MoD only said that the procurement was ongoing.
