South Korea announces 15-year military technology plan

South Korea has announced a 15-year military technology plan that aims to drive defence-industrial development alongside a recently updated defence offset policy. The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said on 25 April that the "2020-34 core technology plan provides a direction for the development of the core technologies necessary for advanced military systems". The plan focuses on eight areas of technologies, most of which are line with its continuing emphasis on Industry 4.0 capabilities such as artificial intelligence and cyber warfare.
