France's Armed Forces Ministry announced on 6 February the launch of the pre-development phase for the military version of the Airbus Helicopters H160 rotorcraft. The contract forthe H160M Guepard (Cheetah) was actually awarded to Airbus Helicopters and Safran Helicopter Engines on 30 December 2019. The launch of the programme is scheduled for 2021 and the first Guepards should be delivered from 2026, two years earlier than initially planned.
