India approves procurement of indigenous materiel

India's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has approved the procurement of indigenously designed and manufactured materiel for the Indian Army (IA) worth INR33 billion (USD465 million). The MoD's Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) authorised on 21 Octo-ber the acquisition of an undisclosed number of third-generation antitank guided missiles and auxiliary power units for the IA's T-72 and T-90 main battle tanks.
