Seoul introduces new quality controls for military products

South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has introduced a quality control mechanism to boost the competitiveness of indigenous defence products in international markets. DAPA said on 15 July that the plan aims to "streamline the system of quality control for military products and ensure quality and reliability". It added that the existing quality control framework was initially introduced in the 1980s and needs updating to reflect the wide range of defence products now built in South Korea.
