Royal Navy's CVF programme faces further delay

Representatives from the Aircraft Carrier Alliance - the contrac-tors involved with the UK Royal Navy's future aircraft carrier (CVF) programme - told a Defence Committee meeting on 18 October that they were currently unable to set the final green light for design (Main Gate). The milestone decision was originally set for the end of 2003 but has subsequently slipped as a result of an extension to the programme's assessment phase.
