The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) has taken delivery of its first Gulfstream G550 Conformal Airborne Early Warning (CAEW) aircraft, the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced.rnThe first of four such aircraft was accepted into the air force during a ceremony at Tengah Air Base on 19 February. The G550 has been selected by the RSAF to replace its ageing AN/APS-138 radar-equipped Northrop Grumman E-2C Group 0 Hawkeye aircraft, which have been in service for more than 20 years.rnThe aircraft is fitted with an advanced mission suite that includes an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar that, when combined with an endurance of nine hours and an operating altitude of 41,000 ft, allows the G550 to detect, identify and track aerial targets at a range of over 200 n miles.
