UK MoD pressed to find ￡2bn in additional cuts

UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) planners have been told to make GBP2 billion (USD3 billion) in new cuts to try to make the UK's force structure, base infrastructure and equipment procurement programme match the next four years' spending limits as set out in the coalition government's Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR).rnAn official involved in the process have told Jane's that each of the ministry's top-level budget holders have been told to justify their spending plans to meet the very tight new targets and at the same time eliminate some GBP 1.407 billion of unfounded liabilities in the 2011/12 financial year.
