The UK should be prepared to invest far greater sums to counter cyber attacks and bolster its cyber defences, according to the UK's Minister for the Armed Forces, Nick Harvey.rnOutlining the government's plans to improve cyber security at the Chatham House think-tank on 9 November, Harvey suggested that the GBP650 million (USD1.04 billion) of new cyber capability investment announced under the Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) in October may need to grow significantly in years to come. "We should not underestimate the investment required to develop such capabilities," he said.
