Iran displays medium-range advanced ballistic missiles

Iran's Defence Ministry officially handed over third-generation Fateh-110 medium-range ballistic missiles to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on 22 September.rnThe handover ceremony was a centrepiece of the country's anniversary commemoration of the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, during which the unveiling of other new military materiel is expected. It also follows the acknowledgement by the United States that it is preparing a USD60 billion package in advanced weapon systems and aircraft for sale to Saudi Arabia: considered the Islamic Republic's main military rival in the Middle East beyond Israel.
