China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) is developing a family of long-range rocket systems that could give 'strategic' reach to its ground force artillery units, complementing the short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) of the PLA's Second Artillery (a separate branch of the PLA that controls nuclear- and non-nuclear-armed missiles).
