Satellite images reveal extent of Isfahan incident

On 28 November an explosion associated with a key nuclear facility in Isfahan was reported - then later retracted - by Iranian news agency Fars. Recent DigitalGlobe satellite imagery over Isfahan shows the complete eradication of several buildings inside the facility, closely mirroring a series of explosions that occurred 16 days earlier at a rocket fuel processing facility outside Bid Ganeh, 35 km east of Tehran. The expansive facility at Isfahan includes several production plants with enhanced security features, including multilayer perimeters, vehicle access points and air defence sites. There is an underground component at the facility with several tunnels leading into the eastern side of a hill north of the production plants. On the western side of that hill is a small site that comprises a 165 m-long trench with circular shafts adjacent to it and several buildings surrounding it.
