Runway issue curtails A400M rough-field trials

The Airbus Military A400M test aircraft MSN002 has returned to the company's facility in Toulouse after the left-side main undercarriage broke through the upper surface of the runway during rough-field trials in eastern Germany, a company spokesperson confirmed to IHS Jane's on 28 May.The aircraft was at the end of a maximum-braked rejected take-off exercise at Cottbus-Drewitz airfield, near the border with Poland, when the incident occurred. According to the spokesperson, the aircraft was recovered without damage and flown back to Toulouse.
