Iran certifies domestic aircraft types

The Iranian Civil Aviation Organisation (CAO) has granted certification to two aircraft types that have been indigenously manufactured by Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industries (HESA), state media announced on 2 May. The certification relates to locally produced versions of the Bell 206 JetRanger helicopter and Antonov An-140 turboprop airliner. Although a light attack variant of the JetRanger, designated Shahed 285, is already being produced by HESA, Iranian TV footage indicates that certification has been granted for the Shahed baseline utility model.
