IN commissions third Kolkata-class destroyer

The Indian Navy (IN) commissioned the destroyer INS Chennai in Mumbai on 20 November following a four-year delay. Built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd for more than INR40 billion (USD587 million), the 164 m-long, 7,300-tonne warship is set to join the Western Naval Command in Mumbai following additional sea trials, IN officials told IHS Jane's.
