Fifth Nimitz-class aircraft carrier preparing for re-delivery to the fleet

A US Navy (USN) nuclear-powered Nimitz-class aircraft carrier undergoing its mid-life Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) is coming back to life and will re-deliver to the fleet by the end of 2016, an official from Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) said during a media briefing on 17 May. Fifth-in-class USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) is around 90% complete with its RCOH and the shipyard is turning spaces back over to the crew, which has moved back on board, Matt Mul-herin, president of HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division, said at the Navy League's 2016 Sea-Air-Space symposium in National Harbor, Maryland.
