Images have emerged on Chinese online forums showing what appears to be China's J-20 'fifth-generation' fighter aircraft possibly equipped with new turbofan engines. The images show the engines featuring revised nozzles, possibly for thrust vectoring, which may be used to power a new version of the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) J-20. Some of the most distinctive visible features of the turbofans include pointed nozzle petals designed to increase stealth: a feature that is characteristic of the US Pratt & Whitney F135 turbofan engine that powers the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
