The UK Royal Navy (RN) has retired the Westland Lynx HMA8 maritime helicopter after more than 20 years of operations, the service announced on 24 March. The latest variant of the base-line Lynx that entered service in the mid-1970s, the HMA8 was first introduced into RN service in 1994.
