India successfully test-fired an extended-range version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile on 11 March from the Integrated Test Range at Chan-dipur in the eastern Indian state of Odisha, according to a statement by the Indo-Russian joint venture BrahMos Aerospace. "With the successful test firing of [the] BrahMos Extended Range missile, BrahMos-ER, the Indian armed forces will be empowered to knock down enemy targets far beyond... 400 km," said Sudhir Mishra, CEO and managing director of BrahMos Aerospace.
