Boeing awarded LRIP Lot 3 contract for KC-46A tanker

The US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded Boeing a USD2.1 billion contract for low-rate initial production (LRIP) Lot 3 of the KC-46A Pegasus tanker aircraft. The contract, which was announced by the company on 27 January, covers 15 aircraft, as well as spare engines and wing air refuelling pod kits. This LRIP Lot 3 award comes some six months after LRIP Lot 1 and Lot 2 were awarded in August 2016 for seven and 12 aircraft respectively.
