Israeli Navy moves Super Dvoras to Red Sea unit

The Israeli Navy has reinforced its Eliat-based Squadron 915 with Super Dvora MK 1 fast patrol boats to help secure the country's short coastline on the Gulf of Aqaba. Lieutenant Colonel Oren Nehbas, commander of the navy's Red Sea Arena, told IHS Jane's that before the arrival of the Super Dvora MK I boats, Squadron 915 had to make do with older vessels because it was lower down on the navy's priority list than the squadrons that patrol the coast of the Gaza Strip and Israel's maritime border with Lebanon. As a result of the arrival of the new boats, the Red Sea Arena has retired its older Nachshol-class catamarans.
