Mode S radar equipment from Thales has entered operational service at Inverness Airport, the company stated on 23 February.rnThales supplied its STAR 2000S primary system and co-mounted RSM 970 S monopulse secondary surveillance radar (MSSR) to the airport - the first such installation in the UK market, said Steve Hill, vice president and managing director of Thales UK Air Systems.rnModular in design, the solid-state STAR 2000S includes normal/standby channels with automatic switchover processed at system level. The Remote Control and Monitoring System allows for unattended operation of the system.
