Food for all

In "Abolishing Hunger" (Issues, Summer 2009), Ismail Serageldin presents a cohesive argument for action to abolish hunger while ensuring sustainable management of natural resources. I agree with the action he proposes, but I am concerned that such action will not be prioritized by those in charge. It is a long-standing lesson from historical developments and research that growth and development in agriculture are the key to successful economic growth and poverty alleviation in virtually every low-income developing country.
