Developing countries appreciate ISO's new initiatives

Glegalization has moved at an alarming pace and, for some of us in developing countries, it has caught us unprepared. Globalization has changed the way we live. It has also changed the business environment in which we operate. Previously closed and protected economies such as ours are now a playing ground of intense competition. Companies are closing down because they cannot face up to the challenge. With globalization has come the changing role of standardization. Standardization now plays a key role in trade facilitation, especially regional and international trade.
