A swirl motion of a cylindrical bath occurred when the bath was agitated by a liquid jet generated through an off-centered nozzle. The boundary of the occurrence region was divided into four sub-boundaries. Empirical equations, (9), (14), (18), and (23), were proposed for predicting the sub-boundaries as functions of the aspect ratio, H_L/D, modified Rossby number, Ro_m, and dimensionless nozzle distance, R_E/R.
