A key piece of the puzzle

Goodman already collaborates with Amazon in four major European markets. Seven locations in Germany provide the internet giant with almost 700,000 m~2 of logistics space, four in France with almost 200,000 m~2 and one each in Poland and the UK with another 123,000 and 750,000 m~2 respectively. Until now Italy was thus almost completely left out. But at the end of February, construction started on an 8,000 m~2 facility near Milan, in the north of the country. It is scheduled for completion in September. The project has been described as part of the firm's global strategy to meet demand for advantageously-located logistics space with easy links to and from consumer markets. The Pioltello logistics centre meets this brief; no less than 2.5 million people can be served from there in the range of just half an hour's drive.
