The GSSA Strike Aviation increased the number of national branches it operates in Latin America to ten when it opened a new branch office in Sao Paulo in January. It is headed by Sergio Sanguinetti, a former Continental Airlines regional freight head. The previous few months had already been rather tumultuous for Strike Aviation's 33 branches worldwide. President Frank Ziesemer (pictured) proudly told the ITJ that "our Quito branch, which opened in July last year, started off rather well by signing a contract with Air Canada." It markets an Airbus A330-200 preighter, which takes off from Montreal once a week and flies to Havana and Ecuador before returning to Canada. Strike also represents Premium Jet as an offline GSA there, and feeders goods via Bogota and San Jose into flights for Air Canada, which is preparing a second weekly flight, and for TAP Air Portugal.
