Quito airport reported at the end of September that it has weathered the worst of the recent storm. "April was the worst month in terms of exports. Our volumes crashed by 33% in comparison with the same month last year," according to Andrew O'Brian, president and CEO of airport operator Quiport. Since then the recovery has been steady. In May export volumes were still 9% down, and in June again by 4.7%, but by July growth had returned (1.8%), which even leapt to 10.1% in August.
