Class-action suit launched in Genoa

The transport chains in the port of Genoa are functioning - but there is some discontent fermenting amongst forwarders, whose business suffered heavily on account of the partial closure of transport routes arising from the collapse of the Morandi bridge last year. In December the members companies of the local forwarders' association Spediporto unanimously voted in favour of a class-action suit for compensation from the firm Autostrade per l'Italia (Aspi) and the Italian infrastructure and transport ministry MIT. An extraordinary meeting attended by approximately 300 members of the body gave the proposal presented by the Spediporto board the green light, as had been expected.
