The French competition authority has given SNCF, the French state-owned rail service provider, the green light to take over Novatrans completely. The latter is a leading intermodal road/rail player in France and operates almost all of the important intermodal handling hubs in the country. In June the state railway operator had announced plans to raise its share of Novatrans's capital assets from the previous figure of 39.9% to 85%.
