The Howe Robinson Container Index (HRCI) decreased from 580.1 points for the week ending on 21 October to 556.6 points for the one ending on 4 November. This 24 point decrease in the HRCI represents a 4% fall over the last 2 weeks. The fortnight saw smaller categories fare well, with the owners of 650 teu units registering a remarkable 10% increase. The next category up, despite decreasing, only fell by 2%. The 1,050 teu category did not record any losses. But the medium to large sectors fell, some categories quite dramatically. The largest declines came for 2,080 and 1,100 teu vessels, which declined by 13% and 11% respectively.
