The Howe Robinson Container Index (HRCI) increased from 666.8 points for the week ending on 24 November 2010 to 716.6 points for the one terminating on 14 January 2011. Only a couple of categories were non-movers, with the majority seeing positive movement, mainly since the beginning of this year. The greatest growth was seen in the 2,500 teu segment, which rose by 29%, whilst 510 and 2,800 teu units both increased by 18% in the period under review. The rest of the fleet improved substantially less, with increases in the region of 4 to 10%. There were only two classifications with decreases over this time frame, with 3,500 teu ships dropping by 8% and 520 teu vessels falling by 3%.
